Quarter 2 has come to an end today, January 20. Report cards will hit the parent portal by January 30. Our students are working hard to complete their NWEA Measure of Academic Progress testing to see how much growth they've had so far. Students in Lake Huron have started their DARE Program, and are working to earn an extra day with the dogs. Our authorizer, Ferris State University, has gifted each of our Kinder through 4th-grade students a book, along with a stuffed animal to read it with and to. Those will be handed out next week.
LATCHKEY has started again! Mrs. Sehr runs a latchkey session each morning from 6:00 am-7:30 am, and each afternoon from 3:10 pm-6:00 pm. Call the office if you need an application or have any questions.
We LOVE our family volunteers. If you'd like to come into your student's room to read with kids, help with lunch, or be an extra set of eyes and hands at recess, gym, art, or another subject, let us know. The kids love to see you here and the teachers all appreciate a bit of extra help.
After-school sports or club volunteers are always needed. Contact the office if you can help with that.
Remember to watch for New Bedford Academy's name as you're watching for school closings due to the weather. We post independently from other local districts, so watch for our name and a Messenger alert.
Have fun and stay warm out there!
