TEACHER POSITIONS: 5th/6th Grade Split Class Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS: • Must possess a valid Michigan Elementary teaching certificate and meet state requirements in the area of certification • Must meet criteria for “highly qualified” status under No Child Left Behind Act. We are happy to consider new graduates - all you need is a valid teaching certificate and an attitude you'd want for your own children's teachers to have. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements • Must have effective rating in most recent performance evaluation (formal or informal) for those with previous experience • Knowledge of current curriculum trends • Input/participation in building and district committee structure • Commitment to work effectively with fellow staff members • Knowledge of technology as instruction tools or willingness to become knowledgeable and commitment to use same regularly to enhance instructional effectiveness • Knowledge of, and ability to implement, cooperative learning strategies and differentiated instruction on a regular basis • Knowledge of and ability to implement higher order thinking skill development on a regular basis • Knowledge of and ability to regularly use the writing process and expository writing to enhance teaching and learning • Desire to develop an interdisciplinary approach to delivering instructional outcomes • Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines, and building regulations • Willingness to perform other duties as necessary and/or directed by the Principal and/or Special Education Coordinator

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary varies depending on experience and qualifications, beginning at $37,000. Benefits include a competitive salary, 401K, and health benefits. All new teachers will be assigned a mentor and will receive extensive training.

OTHER POSITIONS: Para-Professional – Multiple Positions Open

SCHEDULES:  (Depending on position)
Monday-Friday: 5:45 am - 11:30 am (Para-pro and AM Latchkey)
Monday-Friday: 12:30 pm - 6:15 pm (Para-pro and PM Latchkey)
Monday-Friday: Varied: Para-pro daily & Building Sub when needed: Para-pro hours 9:45 am – 3:30 pm, and 7:30 am - 3:15 pm when serving as Building Sub
 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (Depending on position): ● Work with students within the classroom or Latchkey setting to support academic and behavior goals ● Collaborate with staff to address student needs ● Supervise areas within the school, as assigned ● Serve as a classroom substitute within the building when needed (Only for Para-pro/Building Sub position)

QUALIFICATIONS: ● Associate’s Degree OR 60 Credit Hours (to Sub) OR pass the ETS Para-pro Assessment ●  Ability to work and problem solve with students and adults in a positive manner ● Effective communication skills ● Willingness to become First-Aid & CPR Certified (training provided)

OTHER POSITIONS: Part-Time Custodian/Maintenance

SCHEDULE:   Monday-Friday: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Also need availability to cover lunch during the day when lead custodian is out, and work day-time hours during the summer/breaks to work as a team to prepare the building (not necessary this summer)

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: ● Main custodial work in the classrooms/hallways/office/common areas ● Light maintenance duties ● Cooperate with custodial staff on projects like painting, rug shampooing, etc.● Closing and securing the building properly each evening

QUALIFICATIONS: ● High School Diploma or equivalent ●  Ability to work and problem solve with staff in a positive manner ● Effective communication skills ● Some school experience preferred
